When you dine out, the bill can sometimes be hard to stomach.
But one restaurant is offering its customers the ultimate after-dinner sweetener by asking them to pay whatever they consider to be a fair price for their meal.
The Penn Central restaurant near Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset, has launched an "anti-price" menu where customers are asked to pay whatever they feel their meal was worth.
The menu is intended to boost mid-week trade. While food and unlimited tap water are on offer, alcoholic drinks are not included.
Mick Callaghan, the restaurant’s owner, said: "I believe that the majority of people are fair if you give them good food, a good time and a nice place. "
Mr Callaghan said the scheme was inspired by the band Radiohead, who released their latest album In Rainbows on the internet last year and invited fans to pay what they thought it was worth.
Let’s chew over the idea before making any decisions.(下結論前,讓我們再討論一次。)
I can’t stomach his jokes.(我受不了他開的玩笑。)
My points:
I think it's a very nice scheme for resraurant owners. I believe most people give a fair price unless they have difficulty in paying a diet. Customers pay a bill to the owner face to face, and the way can make you show your suggestion and feeling immediately. It's also a good interaction.
